Using Respondus LockDown Browser with Classic and New Quizzes

Introduction

Currently, Canvas has two Quiz tools: Quiz and New Quiz. Respondus LockDown Browser works with both. However, students access their quizzes differently with Respondus LockDown Browser. The students do not differentiate between the Classic and New quizzes based on their views.

Respondus LockDown Browser App

Students will need to download the Respondus LockDown Browser Application on their computers. Campus-owned computers, including Chromebooks and iPads, have the app already installed.

1. Download - CCCD Respondus LockDown Browser
   1. This website is exclusive to CCCD
2. Install the App on Windows, Mac
   1. On an iPad, users must install the app from the Apple App Store
   2. Chromebook Users must install the extension from Chrome Store

Students: How to Take a Classic Quiz with Respondus LockDown Browser

1. Close all apps on the device
2. Locate Respondus LockDown app
3. Click or “Double Click” Respondus LockDown Browser App to open the program
4. Login to Canvas using your Coast login
5. Locate your course and quiz
6. Take the quiz

Students: How to take a New Quiz with  Respondus LockDown Browser 

1. Close all apps on your device.
2. Open Chrome or Firefox.
3. Login to Canvas.
4. Locate the Course.
5. Locate the Quiz.
6. Start the Quiz.
   1. The quiz will open the Respondus Lockdown App
   2. Complete the quiz
